Becoming A Member of FBC Wylie

We would love for you to become a member of First Baptist Church of Wylie. There are three simple ways to become a member of FBC Wylie.

• By transfer of letter from another Southern Baptist Church. As Southern Baptists we are autonomous in nature but cooperatively linked to other Southern Baptist Churches through our like belief as described in The Baptist Faith and Message.
  
  
• By statement of faith, having already received believer’s baptism. One joins the church by acknowledging that they have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior at an earlier time in their life and have been baptized through immersion.
  
  
• By committing their life to Jesus Christ as Savior. It is important to note that until a person is baptized they are “pending membership.”

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord's Supper.

Membership Class

Everyone who becomes a member of FBC Wylie is encouraged to attend the Discovering FBC Wylie class. Classes are scheduled on a monthly basis. An invitation will be sent to each new member telling the time and location for the class.
